Different people look for different things in a sports watch, with some having the need for features that are advanced, while others are content with basic features such as those offered by the Garmin Forerunner 110. The information that the watch offers covers all the basic essentials that are needed by runners. The Forerunner 110 is able to track information such as average pace, distance and time. In addition, its construction is simple making  it look like a regular wristwatch rather than a sports watch so that it can be used for various functions.

The Garmin Forerunner 110 is one of my favorite wristwatches from the company for those who are choosing their first gps sports watch because it is so easy to use and simple in its design and construction. It fits people with smaller wrists well and does not look bulky, so it is functional as well as benefiting the owner in an aesthetic manner.

It is also ideal for beginner runners or athletes who might have not used this type of watch before because it doesn’t have loads of control buttons and options to confuse them, but it provides all the essential information they need.

  • Ideal as a First GPS Sports Watch
  • Inexpensive and Very Easy to Use
  • Short battery life when in GPS mode

The best features that this model offers users include the GPS satellite lock-in which is able to be done within a short time. The ability of the watch to do this quickly is important for users as they are able to locate exactly where they are through this signal and track their route. The Forerunner 110 is an improvement over some earlier models produced by Garmin which had a problem in this area.

The heart rate monitor is part of the package that the Garmin Forerunner 110 with Heart Rate Monitor comes with and is an important tool that most runners who use the watch have come to appreciate. The monitor is unbelievably accurate and provides data on the calories that have been burned in the body from the data that is provided by the heart rate monitor. This is one of the Forerunner 110 features that set it apart from the rest of the sports watches that are available in the market.

Since the Forerunner 110 sports watch has GPS functionality, it usually drains the battery within a short time, but the good thing is that it is rechargeable. It has contact points at the rear part of the main body which has a USB adaptor. The sports watch can either be charged using a USB port on a computer or through a power socket.

As with most products, there are some positives and negatives related to the Garmin Forerunner 110, one of the negatives being the inability to customize the screens to fit the personal preferences of users. However, for most users it still provides the basic data that is needed for making accurate calculations on their progress, which is clearly displayed on the screen.

This sports watch is ideal for beginners as it is not too technical, easy to master the functions it offers, and start benefiting from them immediately. Plus, it's inexpensive.
