The Garmin swim watch is an interesting device used by professional swimmers or people who intend to exercise by swimming. It’s primarily used to help you track your distance, the pace at which you are swimming, your stroke count and so much more. As it is water resistant you can record and upload your training stats to the web, you can never go wrong with this watch.

What I like most about this watch is that it is so useful. As a superb gadget of its kind, the Garmin swim watch provides you with the ability to monitor your progress as you practice in the water. Specifically designed for pools, all you need to do is input the size of the pool you are swimming in and leave the rest to the watch. All calculations are recorded according to the information you need and this is something I like. The point is that this is more than just a watch, and won’t slow you down as you workout.

Special Note: This is not a GPS capable watch. It is a swim watch that works best in the pool not at sea.

Pros:
  • Extended Battery Life
  • Easy to Use to Track your Swimming Efficiency SWOLF Score
Cons:
  • Some users have reported it doesn't count laps properly but seems to be a watch-specific issue

Among some of the incredible features of the Garmin swim watch is its battery life, which has been said to last up to a year. The best thing is that you don’t have to send your watch to the manufacturer for a new battery, as you can easily change it yourself. The ability of the watch to track your laps and identify your current stroke, distance or even pace is reason enough to make you choose this watch. The fact that it can also calculate your SWOLF score and help gauge your swimming efficiency is also another reason to love this watch. Lap swimmers have identified the described feature as very useful.

When we focus on the interface, which has been simplified to six exterior buttons, it makes the usability of the Garmin swim watch a lot easier since every function can be easily accessed through the press of a single button. As I already pointed out earlier, the Garmin swim watch doesn’t present any problems when used in water. It doesn’t slow you down and you can keep up your pace as you strive to improve. This is because of its sleek design which helps you cut through the water with ease.

It is easier to focus on your swimming technique instead of relying on the lap. This advantage is achieved by its remarkable features, its ability to recognize your stroke while at the same time tracking your lengths and distance respectively, allowing you to concentrate on perfecting your swimming style. Most users report that they really love this watch. The few complaints about it seem to be focused on incorrect lap counting. Since the majority of people report that the watch counts their laps correctly it seems that this is an issue isolated to just a few watches in the production run and isn't widespread effecting all of the watches.

Users who have already had experience with this device bear testimony to its marvelous benefits and how it helps with their swimming training. The fact that the battery can last up to a year is one of the main reasons customers seem to endorse the Garmin swim watch, although the need to stop the timer when on a break didn’t seem to excite a lot of customers.

I would recommend the Garmin swim watch to any person that loves to swim, and to those who want to track their progress in swimming in terms of distance, speed and lengths.
